About the work
Editorial Policy
The purpose of this site is to document real work clearly, including the parts that did not go smoothly.
Experience first
Articles are based on projects, troubleshooting, systems, business decisions, or lessons I have actually worked through. Planned projects are labeled as plans and are not presented as completed work.
Accuracy over certainty
Technical environments differ. I separate observed results from assumptions, include relevant versions and context when they matter, and avoid claiming that one result applies universally.
AI assistance
AI may assist with editing, organization, code review, research direction, or site development. It does not replace my review or turn an untested idea into a claimed result. Articles include a disclosure when AI materially contributed to the work or writing.
Corrections and updates
Technical information changes. When I find a meaningful error, I correct it. Substantial revisions may receive an updated date while preserving the original publication date. Corrections that change the conclusion should be explained rather than silently hidden.
Links and advertising
Field Notes may display advertising to support the cost of publishing the site. Ads do not determine editorial conclusions. Affiliate relationships, review samples, sponsorships, or other material relationships will be identified clearly if they are introduced.
Questions or corrections
Send corrections or questions to contact@eldritchit.com. Include the article URL and the specific claim or step that needs review.
